Residents across Tshwane are advised to store enough water ahead of major Rand Water maintenance that will affect the Palmiet and Mapleton systems this weekend. The planned shutdown will run from 04:00 on Saturday, 13 December 2025, until 04:00 on Monday, 15 December 2025, causing reduced pumping capacity and possible water outages.
The Palmiet System maintenance will affect areas in western and north-western Tshwane, including Atteridgeville, Laudium, Lotus Gardens, Saulsville, Mabopane, Soshanguve, Rosslyn Industrial Area, Akasia, Bakenkop and Brakfontein.
Meanwhile, the Mapleton System maintenance will impact several reservoirs, including Carina Street, Garsfontein, Eersterust and Kilner Park, affecting suburbs such as Waterkloof, Monument Park, Die Wilgers, Lynnwood Manor, Silverton, Mamelodi and Waltloo.
The City of Tshwane has urged households and businesses to fill up storage tanks and set aside water before the shutdown starts.
