Gauteng Health Celebrates New Generation of Nurses at Graduation Ceremony

The Gauteng Department of Health has celebrated the graduation of nursing students from the SG Lourens Campus and Ga-Rankuwa Campus in a ceremony attended by Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko.

The graduation ceremony, held on Thursday, marked a significant milestone for the newly qualified healthcare professionals as they prepare to enter the province’s healthcare system. The department described the occasion as a celebration of the graduates’ dedication, resilience and hard work throughout their studies.

In a statement shared by Gauteng Health, the department praised the graduates for their commitment to serving communities with compassion and professionalism, saying their contribution represents “hope for a stronger and healthier Gauteng.”

The newly qualified nurses are expected to play a vital role in strengthening healthcare services across the province at a time when public health facilities continue to face increasing pressure and demand for skilled healthcare workers.

“Congratulations to all the graduates as they begin this important journey of caring for others and strengthening our healthcare system,” the department said.

Family members, lecturers and healthcare officials gathered to celebrate the achievement, with many describing the graduates as the future of healthcare in Gauteng.
