ActionSA suspends MMC Kholofelo Morodi amid corruption allegations

The ActionSA in the City of Tshwane has placed MMC Kholofelo Morodi on precautionary suspension following allegations that emerged before the Madlanga Commission.

According to ActionSA’s Communication Director, Matthew George, the party acted swiftly after becoming aware of the allegations.

“ActionSA has shown, like no other political party, that our commitment to fighting corruption is more than words. Upon becoming aware of allegations through the Madlanga Commission, we immediately acted within a few hours to suspend our member and immediately launched a full internal investigation,” said George.

He emphasised that the party prides itself on acting decisively and transparently when dealing with allegations of misconduct.

“No other party has acted with such speed, decisiveness and transparency. Our internal processes are designed to uphold our zero tolerance for corruption and unethical conduct, ensuring that every allegation is investigated thoroughly and fairly and that accountability is enforced without delay,” he added.

George clarified that Morodi’s suspension should not be interpreted as an admission of guilt.

“ActionSA stresses that Morodi’s precautionary suspension does not constitute a finding of wrongdoing, nor does it imply any presumption of guilt. It is a necessary step to protect the integrity of the investigation while allowing the facts to emerge.”

Meanwhile, Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya has been commended by the party for her response to the matter.

“Dr Nasiphi Moya continues to lead the most effective government in the City of Tshwane. Her swift action to suspend MMC Morodi, coupled with her directive to fully cooperate with the Madlanga Commission, demonstrates clearly that ActionSA will take whatever steps are necessary to end corruption in Tshwane,” George said.

The internal investigation is ongoing, with the party maintaining its stance on accountability and due process as it works to establish the facts surrounding the allegations.
