South Africans should brace for mixed weather on Wednesday, with severe thunderstorms, widespread rain, and intense heat expected across the country
The central interior, especially the Free State, North West, and parts of the Northern Cape, faces strong storms and heavy downpours, with rain chances around 60%, raising the risk of localized flooding. Southern regions could see even higher rainfall, up to 80%, with persistent showers and thundershowers.
KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Limpopo will have isolated showers and partly cloudy, warm conditions, while the Eastern Cape faces a developing heatwave, particularly along the Wild Coast. The Western Cape and western Northern Cape should see only light rain and generally warm to hot weather.
Residents are advised to stay prepared and take caution as conditions vary across provinces.
