Residents of Ga-Rankuwa View and several surrounding extensions have been without water since Tuesday evening due to an unexpected supply interruption.
The City of Tshwane has apologised for the inconvenience, attributing the disruption to a technical fault within the water supply system. Technicians from the Water and Sanitation Business Unit are on-site working to diagnose the root cause and perform the necessary repairs.
The confirmed affected areas are:
- Ga-Rankuwa View
- Ga-Rankuwa Extension 23
- Ga-Rankuwa Extension 24
- Ga-Rankuwa Extension 25
- Ga-Rankuwa Unit 17
To provide temporary relief, the municipality is deploying water tankers. Details on their specific locations will be announced shortly. Officials estimate that full water supply will be restored within approximately 24 hours.
In a statement, the City said, “Our teams are working diligently to restore the water supply as quickly and safely as possible and are making every effort to minimise the duration of this interruption.”
The City of Tshwane thanked residents for their patience and cooperation and encouraged them to stay updated by joining the city’s official WhatsApp channels for service delivery notices.
