Armed Fake Passengers Rob Female E-Hailing Driver

A disturbing robbery captured on an in-car camera has left South Africans outraged after two men allegedly posed as passengers before robbing a female e-hailing driver in Nellmapius, east of Pretoria.

The incident, believed to have taken place on Wednesday evening, was recorded by the vehicle’s Cartrack camera system and has since gone viral across social media platforms.

In the footage circulating online, the two suspects are seen engaging in what appears to be a calm and ordinary conversation with the driver moments before the robbery took place. Despite the tense situation, the woman remained composed and reportedly handed over her belongings without resisting after the suspects allegedly produced a firearm.

During the conversation captured in the video, one of the suspects allegedly mentions that they had requested the ride expecting a male driver. However, despite discovering the driver was a woman, the suspects still proceeded with the robbery.

The video has sparked widespread concern and anger online, with many social media users highlighting the dangers faced daily by e-hailing drivers in South Africa. Others praised the driver for staying calm during the armed robbery, saying her cooperation may have helped prevent the situation from becoming more violent.

Members of the public are now circulating screenshots and clips from the footage in an effort to help identify and locate the suspects.
