Residents supplied by the Soshanguve L Reservoir are expected to experience an eight-hour water interruption next week as the City of Tshwane undertakes maintenance work on the reservoir infrastructure.
In a media alert issued on Monday, the City announced that technicians from its Water and Sanitation Business Unit will replace a leaking coupling on the inlet side of the chamber at the Soshanguve L Reservoir on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The planned interruption is scheduled to take place from 08:00 until 16:00 and will affect residents in Soshanguve South Extension 1 and Soshanguve Block TT.
The City said the maintenance work is necessary to improve the reliability of the water supply system and apologised for any inconvenience that may be caused during the shutdown.
“The said work, which is expected to last for eight hours from 08h00 until 16h00, will affect the following areas: Soshanguve South Extension 1 and Soshanguve Block TT,” the statement read.
Residents have also been urged to use water sparingly and adopt water-conservation measures during and after the interruption. The municipality advised residents not to water gardens with hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 06:00 and 18:00, avoid washing vehicles with hosepipes, and refrain from filling swimming pools.
