FF Plus launches voter registration drive under “It’s Our Time” campaign

The Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) has officially launched its nationwide voter registration drive under the bold new slogan “It’s Our Time”, setting the stage for what it hopes will be a breakthrough performance in the 2026 local government elections. Party leader Pieter Groenewald made the announcement during a rally in Pretoria on Thursday, surrounded by dozens of newly recruited candidate counselors and young supporters waving party flags.

“The time has come for the FF Plus to play a bigger role in governing South Africa,” Groenewald told the crowd. “For too long, the voices of minority communities, farmers, and workers in the informal sector have been sidelined. ‘It’s Our Time’ means we stop waiting for permission and start demanding a seat at every table where decisions are made.”

The registration drive will see party volunteers fan out across all nine provinces over the next eight weeks, setting up mobile booths at taxi ranks, shopping malls, and rural community centers. The party is specifically targeting first-time voters and disillusioned former supporters of larger parties, arguing that the FF Plus has proven its ability to govern responsibly in coalition municipalities.

Groenewald criticized the African National Congress (ANC) and Democratic Alliance (DA) for what he called “empty promises on service delivery,” pointing to potholes, unclean water, and electricity outages as issues the FF Plus would tackle at the local level. “Getting registered is just the first step,” he said. “On election day, we will show them that our time has finally arrived.” The Electoral Commission has urged all eligible voters to register by February 28.
