Madlanga Commission Summons Major-General Feroz Khan to Testify

The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has issued a formal notice for Major-General Feroz Khan, the deputy head of SAPS Crime Intelligence, to appear and testify before the commission on 1 July 2026. Khan is expected to remain before the commission for as long as necessary until he is excused.

Khan has become a central figure in several matters under investigation by the commission, which is probing allegations of corruption, political interference and criminal activity within South Africa’s law enforcement and intelligence structures. He has previously denied any wrongdoing linked to allegations made against him.

His summons follows a series of legal and criminal developments, including his arrest earlier this year on charges related to the alleged possession of unwrought gold and defeating the ends of justice. Khan has also been involved in a court battle over electronic devices seized during a police raid, arguing that they contain sensitive intelligence information.

The commission’s decision to call Khan is expected to draw significant public attention as investigators seek answers on allegations that have placed SAPS Crime Intelligence under intense scrutiny. His testimony is likely to be one of the most closely watched sessions of the inquiry.
