BMW has taken the wraps off the performance-oriented flagship of its next-generation 3 Series lineup: the M350 xDrive, a model that bridges the gap between the standard 3 Series and the full-fat M3, while packing enough power and technology to satisfy even the most demanding driving enthusiasts. Slated to enter production later this year, the M350 xDrive delivers 443 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine, aided by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that enhances throttle response and efficiency.
The power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The chassis has been stiffened and tuned to match the powertrain’s performance, featuring adaptive M suspension, an M Sport differential, and optional adaptive dampers that allow drivers to tailor the ride to their preferences.
The M350 xDrive also introduces a new Drift Moment mode, which biases power to the rear wheels for controlled slides—a feature that can be activated via an over-the-air software update, underscoring BMW’s commitment to digital innovation in its performance models.
Inside, the cabin offers the latest iteration of BMW’s curved display and operating system, with performance-specific graphics and driving data displays. The exterior is distinguished by wider tracks, unique front and rear bumpers, larger air intakes, and quad exhaust tips, giving it a muscular yet refined stance.
The M350 xDrive will go into production in late 2026, with first deliveries expected in early 2027. While not a full M3, it promises to deliver a thrilling and accessible performance experience for those seeking a daily driver with serious sporting intent.
