Tim Curry, the incomparable British actor whose flamboyant portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show made him a global cult icon and a beloved figure of counterculture cinema, has passed away at the age of 80. His longtime manager, Marcia Hurwitz, confirmed that Curry died peacefully at his home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, on 25 August. No cause of death was provided, though Curry had lived with the lasting effects of a severe stroke since 2012, which had limited his mobility and public appearances in his later years.
Curry’s career spanned more than five decades, encompassing stage, film, television, and voice work.
