Hundreds of residents in Soshanguve Extensions 6 and 7 are set to receive an important document that could finally give them formal proof of ownership of their properties.
The City of Tshwane’s MMC for Housing and Human Settlements, Ald Aaron Maluleka, is expected to hand over 363 title deeds to rightful beneficiaries during a ceremony on Friday, 4 September 2026.
The handover will take place from 09:00 to 11:00 at the Soshanguve South Extension 6 Sports Ground, next to Councillor Chiloane’s office.
Residents who previously missed the opportunity to collect their title deeds have been encouraged to come forward and make use of the handover event.
The initiative comes after concerns over the number of title deeds that remain uncollected in the area. In June 2025, only 103 of the 417 available title deeds had been issued, leaving hundreds of beneficiaries without the documents.
Residents who have not yet collected their deeds are being urged to attend the event and secure proof of ownership of their properties.
A title deed is a legal document that proves you are the registered owner of a property. It contains important information such as the owner’s details, a description and size of the property, as well as conditions that may apply to its use or sale.
