The Democratic Alliance is taking on the City of Tshwane over its continued billing of a City Cleansing Levy, which a high court has already ruled unlawful. Despite the court order to reverse the R223 charge, the metro is still applying it to residents’ accounts.
The DA’s Cilliers Brink is calling for an immediate suspension of the levy, accusing the city of contempt of court and demanding the mayor address the city’s budget shortfall through proper, legal channels instead of double-billing residents.
