African National Congress (ANC) in Tshwane has dismissed the Democratic Alliance (DA)’s intention to take corruption allegations in the city to the Madlanga Commission, calling the move politically driven and not credible.
DA mayoral candidate Cilliers Brink has accused Deputy Mayor Eugene Modise of failing to declare business interests in companies linked to security and water tanker services. He also alleges that money meant for infrastructure projects was redirected to individuals with political connections.
However, Modise has rejected the accusations. ANC regional spokesperson Joel Masilela argues that if the DA were serious about tackling corruption, it would have addressed these issues while it was in power, especially during the awarding of tenders.
