Pretoria North police have launched a manhunt for a 36 year old murder suspect who failed to appear in court earlier this month, resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
According to Pretoria North SAPS, Nelson Matemang is wanted in connection with a house robbery and murder that took place in Florauna, Pretoria North, in June 2016.
Police confirmed that the case was first reported in 2016, but Matemang was only arrested in August 2023. He was later released on bail and attended several court appearances.
However, his last appearance was in October 2025, and he did not show up for his scheduled court date this month. Pretoria North SAPS spokesperson Tumisang Moloto said he was last seen in the Mamelodi East area and appealed to the public to assist police in locating the suspect.
Moloto emphasised that Matemang is considered dangerous and warned the public not to try to apprehend him. He urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to immediately contact Pretoria North SAPS or the investigating officer.

Moloto asked residents to remain vigilant and report any sightings that could help bring the suspect back to court to face the charges against him.
