R250,000 Reward Offered for Information on Mamelodi Cousins’ Murder as GBV Outrage Grows

In the wake of the brutal killing of two young cousins in Mamelodi, the Aubrey Tau Foundation has stepped in, offering a R250,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators. The move aims to break the silence and accelerate justice for 22-year-old Tshiamo and 21-year-old Baleseng Moramaga.

The foundation, in partnership with Moja Love TV, announced it could not “stand idle” in the face of a tragedy that reflects the “alarming levels of gender-based violence in South Africa.” The victims were found shot dead on a roadside on Sunday, their graphic images circulating on social media and sending shockwaves through the community.

While Gauteng police have launched a double murder investigation, the family remains devastated and desperate for answers. The victims’ aunt, Maggie Moramaga, expressed the family’s anguish, stating, “We want the law to run its course… so we can know how or why they were killed.”

Beyond the reward, the foundation has pledged to assist the family with funeral costs, combining financial support with a direct challenge to the public to come forward with any credible information that can help solve this senseless crime.
