O’Sullivan Concedes He Has No Formal Qualifications in Parliamentary Hearing

Private investigator Paul O’Sullivan acknowledged that he holds no formal professional qualifications during his appearance before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee investigating criminality in the justice system.

O’Sullivan, who testified about his role in exposing corruption and assisting law enforcement as a police reservist, was pressed by ActionSA MP Dereleen James to clarify his academic background.

Asked whether he had any qualifications in law, engineering or other fields, O’Sullivan replied: “No, completely unqualified.”

He confirmed he does not hold a South African matric certificate, explaining that he was educated under a different system. However, he said he completed O Levels and A Levels — qualifications associated with the British education system — several decades ago.

The exchange formed part of broader questioning about his credentials and rise to prominence in law enforcement-related matters. The committee continues its inquiry into alleged criminality within the country’s justice structures.
