Memorial Service Held for Beloved South African DJ Warras in Sandton

Hundreds gathered in Sandton today to honour the life and legacy of Warrick Stock, better known as DJ Warras, as family, friends, colleagues and members of the public paid tribute at his official memorial service.

DJ Warras, a beloved radio and television personality, podcaster, club DJ, and entrepreneur, was tragically shot and killed in downtown Johannesburg on 16 December 2025. He was 40 years old.

Among the attendees was Johannesburg’s Executive Mayor, Councillor Dada Morero, who offered the City’s deepest condolences to the Stock family and emphasised the profound impact Warras had on both the entertainment community and the broader public.

In a statement delivered during the service, the Mayor described DJ Warras as a talented and compassionate figure whose contributions to South African media, music and broadcasting resonated widely. He urged the community to honour Warras’s memory through unity, empathy and respect during this difficult period.
