The wait is finally over for South African SUV enthusiasts as Chinese automaker Jetour has announced official pricing for its much-anticipated T-series models, the T1 and T2. Positioned as the brand’s new flagships, these vehicles aim to carve out a significant space in the competitive family and adventure SUV segments.
The Jetour T1 presents itself as a tech-forward, compact family SUV. With a bold design and a length of over 4.7 meters, it offers a substantial presence. Buyers can choose between two turbocharged petrol engines: a 1.5L (125kW/270Nm) with front-wheel drive or a more powerful 2.0L (180kW/375Nm) exclusively paired with an all-wheel-drive system (XWD). Prices start at R514,900.
For those with a more adventurous spirit, the Jetour T2 (known as the Traveller in other markets) offers a rugged, boxy aesthetic reminiscent of a modern Defender. Built on a unibody platform, it boasts an impressive 220mm of ground clearance and features like locking differentials on AWD models. It shares the T1’s powertrain options but is positioned as the more off-road-capable sibling, with a starting price of R569,200.
This launch signifies Jetour’s ambitious push into the South African market, offering consumers new, feature-packed alternatives in the popular SUV space. With a clear focus on both on-road comfort and off-road capability, the T1 and T2 are poised to attract keen attention from buyers looking for value and style.
