Community members across Gauteng gathered at various sites today as the provincial government officially launched the Tswa Daar Anti-Substance Abuse Campaign. The initiative is designed to help individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction access immediate support and rehabilitation.
The campaign, themed “Your New Life Starts Here. Woza,” was unveiled by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and members of the Executive Council. Activations were held simultaneously at the Orlando Community Wall in Soweto, Tsakani Stadium, George Thabe Stadium in Sharpeville, and the Orange Farm Sports Ground.
Premier Lesufi said the campaign represents a decisive step from discussion to action in the fight against substance abuse.
“Bring forward anyone struggling with addiction; we will assist,” Lesufi told attendees. “Substance abuse has destroyed families and futures, but we are saying enough is enough. We are taking help to the people.”

The Tswa Daar campaign provides a range of essential services, including:
- Mobile medical assessments
- Assistance with affidavits and identity documents
- Applications for recovery programmes
- Job profiling and training opportunities
- Intake assessments and outpatient treatment
- Registration for skills development initiatives
Through this province-wide initiative, the Gauteng Provincial Government aims to restore hope and rebuild communities by ensuring that help for addiction is accessible where it is most needed.
