Power utility Eskom has announced a planned electricity supply interruption affecting several areas in the City of Tshwane due to scheduled maintenance on its distribution network.
The power outage is expected to affect residents in Ga-Rankuwa, Mabopane, Motlhotlung and Winterveldt on Sunday, 15 March 2026. According to Eskom, the interruption will begin at 07:00 and continue until 19:00.
“The planned shutdown is necessary to carry out essential maintenance work on distribution power lines to ensure the reliability and stability of electricity supply in the affected communities.” Read the statement.
Customers in the affected areas have been urged to treat all electrical appliances as live during the outage period for safety reasons.
The utility also thanked residents for their cooperation and apologised for the inconvenience that may be caused by the maintenance work.
Eskom further noted that unforeseen circumstances beyond its control could result in the maintenance not proceeding as scheduled.
