The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) has arrested a 48-year old woman for allegedly impersonating a City of Tshwane official and offering members of the public fraudulent services.
According to Tshwane Executive Mayor, Dr Nasiphi Moya, who shared the information on her Facebook page, the suspect allegedly claimed that she could clear traffic fines at discounted rates. She also reportedly told members of the public that she could register vehicles on the eNaTIS system.
The City has urged residents to remain vigilant and to be cautious of individuals claiming to work for the municipality, particularly those offering to provide official services or requesting payment for services.
Members of the public are encouraged to verify the identity and credentials of anyone claiming to represent the City of Tshwane to avoid falling victim to scams.
