The City of Tshwane is set to continue its drive to clear the title deed backlog, with hundreds more residents expected to benefit from the programme.
The latest handover will take place in Soshanguve South Extension 4 on Friday, 18 September 2026, at 10:00.
The Deputy Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Ald Eugene Modise, together with the MMC for Housing and Human Settlements, Ald Aaron Maluleka, will hand over title deeds to rightful beneficiaries in the area.
The City says the programme is aimed at addressing the outstanding title deed backlog while providing residents with secure tenure, proof of ownership and greater security over their properties.
This handover follows the recent title deed distribution in Soshanguve Extensions 6 and 7, where 363 residents received their title deeds. Residents had been encouraged to collect their documents after only 103 of 417 available title deeds in the area had been issued in June 2025.
For homeowners, a title deed is more than just a document. It is the legal proof that a property is registered in their name, giving them formal recognition of ownership and helping protect their property rights.
The City says clearing the backlog remains a priority under the leadership of MMC Maluleka, with the ongoing handovers intended to restore dignity and strengthen security of tenure for residents.
The upcoming Soshanguve South Extension 4 handover is therefore another step in the City’s ongoing efforts to ensure that qualifying residents receive the documentation confirming ownership of their homes.
