The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned that a cold front is expected to move south of the country on Thursday, bringing cooler weather and a chance of rain to some areas.
According to SAWS, a surface high-pressure system will dominate the central and eastern parts of the country, resulting in generally fine and cold to cool conditions for most of the week.
A very low chance of isolated rain or showers is expected over the southern parts of Gauteng on Thursday. Rain is also forecast along the eastern and southern coastal areas from Thursday through Saturday.
On Tuesday, much of the country is expected to experience partly cloudy and warm to cool conditions, with isolated showers and thundershowers developing in some areas during the afternoon. The south-western parts of the country are expected to remain fine.
SAWS has urged the public and stakeholders to monitor official weather forecasts and warnings, as conditions may change and alerts will be updated if necessary. The weather service also encouraged people to rely only on official sources for weather information and avoid sharing unverified reports.
