A City of Tshwane team has uncovered widespread illegal water connections in Soshanguve Extension 4 during a #ThibaDiLeaks operation in Region 1.
According to the City, about 500 houses in the area were found to have no water meters and were all connected illegally to the municipal water network.
The operation forms part of the City’s ongoing #ThibaDiLeaks campaign, which aims to reduce water losses, curb illegal connections, and protect municipal infrastructure.
Residents are encouraged to regularise illegal water connections to avoid fines, disconnection from the water supply, and possible legal action.
