Deputy President Paul Mashatile and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi are set to attend the Chery International Factory Acquisition Celebration at the Rosslyn Production Facility in Tshwane on Friday, marking a significant milestone for South Africa’s automotive manufacturing sector.
The event celebrates Chery International’s acquisition of the Rosslyn factory, a move expected to strengthen the country’s vehicle manufacturing industry while opening the door to increased investment, job creation and industrial growth.
The Gauteng Provincial Government says the acquisition represents a major transition in the facility’s ownership and operations, positioning the plant to play a greater role in supporting economic development and the localisation of vehicle production.
Government leaders and industry stakeholders are expected to outline how the investment will contribute to expanding manufacturing capacity, attracting further investment and creating employment opportunities in Gauteng.
The celebration, scheduled to begin at 2pm, forms part of broader efforts to position Gauteng as a leading destination for automotive manufacturing and foreign direct investment in South Africa.
