Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lebogang Maile, is set to deliver the department’s 2026/27 Budget Vote at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature on 23 June 2026.
The Budget Vote will outline the department’s key priorities and planned expenditure for the new financial year, focusing on strengthening service delivery and improving outcomes across education, sport, arts, culture and recreation in the province.
According to the department, the budget presentation will also highlight programmes aimed at expanding opportunities for residents, enhancing access to services, and supporting the development of learners, athletes, artists and communities across Gauteng.
The Budget Vote comes as the provincial government continues to implement its Growing Gauteng Together strategy, with the department expected to provide details on funding allocations, infrastructure projects and initiatives designed to improve the quality of life for Gauteng residents. The presentation will take place at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in Johannesburg from 10:00. “The Budget Vote will outline the department’s plans and priorities to strengthen service delivery, expand opportunities, and improve outcomes across education, sport, arts, culture and recreation in Gauteng,” the department said in a statement
