Residents of Hebron and Itsoseng will experience a planned water supply interruption on Thursday, 25 June 2026, as the City of Tshwane undertakes infrastructure upgrades in the area.
According to a notice issued by the City’s Communication, Marketing and Events Department on Monday, the interruption is required to facilitate the installation of bulk meters on the water supply network. Water supply is expected to be suspended from 08:00 until 16:00.
“The interruption, which is necessitated by a need to install bulk meters on the water supply network in the area, is anticipated to last for eight hours, from 08h00 until 16h00,” the notice stated.
The affected areas are Hebron and Itsoseng, which fall under the Madibeng Local Municipality.
The municipality has urged residents to use water sparingly and observe water conservation measures. These include avoiding the watering of gardens with hosepipes or sprinkler systems between 06:00 and 18:00, not washing vehicles with hosepipes, and refraining from filling swimming pools.
Residents have also been encouraged to use grey water for gardening and toilet flushing where possible and to install water-saving devices to reduce water consumption.
The City of Tshwane apologised for any inconvenience caused and appealed to residents to make the necessary preparations ahead of the scheduled outage.
