Prominent Limpopo anti-drug activist and founder of the Limpopo Anti-Drugs, Gangsterism and Crime (LADGAC) Rehabilitation Centre, Tsebe Philimon “Philly” Moloto, has been granted R50,000 bail by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court after appearing on charges of malicious damage to property.
The 51-year-old appeared in court on Tuesday following his arrest during an intelligence-driven operation at his home in Welgelegen, Polokwane, on Monday. Police allege investigators linked him to two incidents that occurred in the Seshego and Westenburg policing areas on 28 June 2026.
Moloto faces two counts of malicious damage to property. According to police, the charges relate to the alleged burning of a rehabilitation centre’s signboard and a Toyota Hilux belonging to his former girlfriend and business partner. The fire allegedly spread to a nearby house, with the total damage estimated at approximately R800,000.
The court granted Moloto bail of R50,000, and the matter has been postponed to 22 September 2026 for further police investigations.
Police say investigations into the matter are continuing. At this stage, the allegations remain before the court, and Moloto is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
