Fuel prices set to rise from 7 October

South African motorists are in for another blow at the pumps, with fuel prices set to increase from Wednesday, 7 October 2026.

According to the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Petrol 93 will increase by R3.12 per litre, while Petrol 95 will go up by R3.33 per litre.

Diesel prices will also rise, with increases ranging between R2.84 and R3.24 per litre, depending on the grade.

The department says the latest adjustments are influenced by changes in international oil prices, petroleum product prices and other local pricing factors.

The increases are expected to put even more pressure on motorists, with higher fuel costs likely to affect transport and the prices of everyday goods and services.
