Santam Syndicate 1918, part of the Santam Group and operating within the Lloyd’s of London market, has announced the appointment of Hina Shavdia as its new Chief Operating Officer. Shavdia will be based in London and will report directly to the Syndicate’s Chief Executive Officer, Sam Geddes.
Shavdia brings more than two decades of experience leading transformational change across the global insurance and reinsurance sectors. She joins Santam Syndicate 1918 from Volante Global, where she served as Group Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, she spent four years at AXIS Capital as Global Head of Business Change, where she was responsible for driving strategic initiatives across the organisation.
Her appointment reflects Santam Syndicate 1918’s commitment to strengthening its operational capabilities and expanding its presence in the international specialty insurance market. The Syndicate, which operates under the Lloyd’s umbrella, is a key component of Santam Group’s strategy to diversify its revenue streams and access global risk pools.
