Four suspects have been apprehended in connection with a brazen cross-pavement robbery that occurred at Diepkloof Square on 27 July 2026, following a meticulously coordinated intelligence-driven operation that involved multiple law enforcement agencies. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the pursuit of a gang believed to be responsible for a string of violent robberies in the area.
The suspects, whose identities have not yet been publicly released pending their formal court appearance, were tracked down and arrested in a swift operation executed by the Tactical and Special Operations unit, with critical support from the Gauteng Highway Patrol, the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), the Linden SAPS Tracking Unit, and the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department’s Crime Line Unit. During the arrests, law enforcement officers recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the commission of the robbery, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash suspected to be proceeds from the crime. The four suspects are expected to appear before the Diepkloof Magistrate’s Court soon, where they will face charges of robbery with aggravated circumstances and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
