Power utility Eskom says residents in parts of Johannesburg and surrounding Gauteng communities will continue to experience scheduled load reduction this week.
According to the power utility, electricity interruptions will take place during peak demand periods in the morning and evening as part of efforts to protect the electricity network from overloading.
Eskom spokesperson Daphney Mokoena says, the load reduction programme is aimed at maintaining the stability of the power grid while reducing pressure on the network during periods of high electricity demand.
The utility has urged affected customers to use electricity sparingly and to check the published load reduction schedules to determine when their areas will be affected.
