The Majita Monday Podcast has sadly announced the passing of one of its cherished panel members, Elias Moramaga Napo, affectionately known as “Ma Eli.”
In a statement released on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, the Pretoria-based podcast described Napo as a key figure whose presence, insight and passion played a significant role in shaping both the programme and the community that grew around it.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of one of our cherished panel member, Elias Moramaga Napo ‘Ma Eli’ whose presence, insight, and passion helped shape our podcast and the community that has grown around it,” the statement read.
The podcast team said Napo was much more than a voice behind the microphone, remembering him as a valued friend, colleague and an integral part of their journey. They said his thoughtful contributions, generosity and dedication left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with and listening to him.

The team extended its heartfelt condolences to Napo’s family, loved ones and all those mourning his passing, saying they are grieving alongside their audience during this difficult time.
The Majita Monday Podcast also confirmed that it will take time to honour Napo’s memory and celebrate his legacy, adding that details regarding a tribute episode or memorial arrangements will be shared at an appropriate time.
